Realization of crossborder project in Voronovo district will do medical care of the villagers more mobile.

Medical institutions of Belarus-Lithuania borderlands – Voronovo and Alitus districts – are going to realize a common project in Programme of crossborder cooperation “Latvia – Lithuania - Belarus 2014-2020”. The initiative of the medical workers is directed to the increasing accessibility of medical care in remote and small settlements. The project involves the acquisition of mobile medical stations. Equipped with diagnostic equipment these complexes will ply along villages. The patients will be examined by paramedics, they will have the opportunity to take blood tests, make an electrocardiogram.

  • Two mobile medical stations will be bought for Voronovo district, they will occupy the territories which don’t have medical institutions. Such a mobile complex will be able to serve 40-60 people a day. Practically, all the village, - said Igor Kopt, vice manager of Voronovo central hospital.


Participating in this programme, financed by the European Union , was preceded by great common preparatory work of medical colleagues from our and Lithuanian side. The cost of the project is 390 000euro, the financial contribution of both participating sides will have 10%. The project is expected to enter a new phase starting from a new year.
