The holiday of unity of national cultures

The week of culture “Inflorescence of Talents of Voronovo Land” finished in Radun on the 19th of August with the VII open district festival of folk traditions and art “The Songs of My Voronovo Land”.

In the morning in honour of the town's residents, solemn divine services took place in the Orthodox and Catholic churches. They prayed for hard-working and talented people who live in harmony in our beautiful land, for peace and prosperity of our motherland.

Then the residents of Radun gathered in a cosy and decorated square where they were greeted by Nickolay Rosum, chairman of Voronovo executive committee. He wished happiness, goodness and wealth to the representatives of 24 nationalities of Voronovo land.
Honour to open the festival received a song and dance ensemble  “Eyshishchane” from the centre of culture of Shalchininkay, Lithuania. The spectators liked Polish and Lithuanian songs performed by our foreign neighbours , the older people liked the dance “Aberak”very much, which reminded them of their youth.

  • Such holidays as today in Radun unite peoples. People need them. I wish you luck, - said Regina Dmuhovskaya, chairperson of the Belarusian cultural centre “Ranitsa” in Shalchininkay.

  • A wonderful festival, rich in talented performers and good songs, - commented people during the concert.


And really the square and the town breathed in the melodies in different languages. Folk groups “Zaranitsa”, “Lyavony”, “Radun’s Guys” had their special costumes and their own musical variety. They gave a lot of joy to the residents.

During the performance of young artists the faces of spectators became even more beautiful and warm.The applause did not seem to end.

The residents will remember the concert of amateur song from Ivye  and also a pop-group from Voronovo “Retro-the 80-s” for their professional skills for a long time.

The song festival lasted for more than eight hours and ended with the performance of a folk group from Minsk “Make merry, soul”. The inhabitants were in high spirit during the performance and at the holiday discotheque as well.

Songs and music sounded  not only from the scene but also from Polish, Belarusian, Lithuanian, Russian, gypsy national yards which were presented by the centres of culture from Girki, Zabalats, Boltishki, Kanvelishki, Pagarodna, Paletskishki, Dotishki, Nacha, Zhirmuny, Radun. They were awarded with diplomas from the executive committee by Tatyana Tihanovich, head of the centre of culture.

During the whole bright holiday trade, children's attractions worked. There was a rich choice of different things in the town of masters.
